The 6121 JFIC Online is an online query system developed for the analysis of the data of the 1961-2021 Japanese General Fiction Corpus (6121 JFIC).
Data
+ 6121 JFIC includes excerpts from the 217 modern Japanese literary works that appeared in three kinds of literary magazines (Bungakukai, Gunzo, and Shincho) published in the years of 1961, 1971, 1981, 1991, 2001, 2011, and 2021.
+ The total number of tokens (word-forms) is around 616,000 and that of types is around 34,000.
Copyright
+ All the 6121 JFIC data is collected, saved, and integrated into a data retrieval system under Article 47-6 of Japan's Copyright Act.
+ Prior to the release of the corpus, the 6121 JFIC Development Team discussed with the copyright management sections of three literary magazines, Bungakukai (Bungei Shunju Ltd.), Gunzo (Kodansha Ltd.) and Shincho (Shinchosha Publishing Co. Ltd.), as well as The Japan Writers Association (JWA), and confirmed that this project does not infringe the right of the copyright holders.
+ However, if a copyright holder should find any copyright infringement, please contact the corpus development team (Dr. Shin Ishikawa, iskwshin@gmail.com). We will soon take a needed action.
Translation
+ 6121 JFIC also includes the data of two kinds of automated English translations generated by DeepL® and Minna- no- Jido-Honyaku@TexTra®.
+ The data size is around 496,000 tokens/ 21,000 types for DeepL® translation, and 481,000 tokens/ 19,000 types for Minna® translation.
+ These translations are offered only for the sake of convenience for non-Japanese speakers. They are NOT official and the 6121 JFIC Development Team does NOT guarantee their correctness.
+ Users may NOT analyze English texts by themselves.
